ikonAbout the Program

An exciting field of study, International Relations was born in the early 20th century as an academic discipline, offering globally focused perspectives on issues across country borders. The discussions of idealism and realism in the discipline have been enriched over time with new perspectives such as Marxism, system approach, structuralism, constructivism, English School and Copenhagen School. The discipline has sub-branches such as diplomacy, international law, international economics and international security. The discipline has expanded in the 21st century with the effect of globalization to address all kinds of relationships and developments between the state and non-state actors (individuals, groups, organizations, companies, etc.).

ASBU International Relations Department, which makes the world the subject of research, offers a rich undergraduate curriculum reflecting all the new developments and changes in the discipline. It aims to produce alternative theoretical approaches to hegemonic global politics readings with the vision of producing science which is also nourished by our tradition of İrfan.
